I have known Natalie, her husband Chris, and her daughters for some time now. They are good people, honest people. People who deserve every happiness in this world. I believe that this happiness was felt, on this day - the day of their daughter, Hannah's baptism. This is a day that both Hannah and her parents have prepared anxiously for, looked towards, and hoped in.
Hannah glowed that day. She was always a pretty, lovely little girl - but today, she had something new inside her. A light of maturity. A light of responsibility. She was - in fact - and is, a little woman. A little woman who grows to look more and more like her beautiful mother every day.
On a day like today, details are ever so important. When photographing such a special event, like a wedding, a birthday, a baptism - I drive myself to take photos of every single detail, multiple times. These are the things that are often forgotten; the larger moments are most remembered, and are easily recalled years later. But it's those tiny, precious and simple things that drift from the edges of our aging minds. It's a terrible, horrible thing to happen to a human being; especially a little human being with so much life ahead. So many nights, so many prayers, so many mornings and so many trials.
Details and emotions are the only things that we can look back on to truly recall the way we felt that very day.
Hannah - may you always remember. May you feel your Saviour always. May your heart grow and blossom in love and faith. Your parents, grandparents, friends and family will always be there for you, to catch you, to help you, to motivate you and to tell you how proud they are.
How proud we all are.
Remember this Story, always.
"I like to look for rainbows when ever there is rain
and ponder on the beauty of an earth made clean again.
I want my life to be as clean as Earth right after rain
I want to be the best I can,
and live with God again.
I know when I am baptized my wrongs are washed away,
and I can be forgiven and improve myself each day.
I want my life to be as clean as Earth right after rain
I want to be the best I can,
and live with God again. "
